Social Worker/Deputy Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our "Outstanding" Residential Family Assessment Centre in Leicester as a Deputy Manager. This is a challenging and rewarding role ideal for someone passionate about safeguarding and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes. You will play a key role in providing high-quality assessments and interventions in line with OFSTED regulations and the "Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023" guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Intervention:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of vulnerable children and their families within a residential and community setting.
- Case manage up to three families concurrently, utilising the Parent Assess framework.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate work programs with direct interventions.
- Complete detailed reports and make decisive recommendations for long-term care.
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide cover for the Registered Manager in their absence.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and service provision.
- Offer on-call advice, guidance, and support to staff members on a rota basis.
- Provide training and supervision to the staff team.
- Court Representation:
- Represent the organisation in court proceedings.
- Provide clear and concise written and verbal evidence.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- BA Hons Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW, or CSS.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience:
- Conducting comprehensive family assessments.
- Working with children and families in safeguarding and child protection contexts.
- Working with vulnerable families.
- Presenting evidence in court.
- Knowledge:
- Child development, parenting skills, and risk assessment.
- Child Protection Procedures and "Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023."
- Child care law, including the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, and Public Law Outline 2014.
- Every Child Matters and the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families.
Desirable Requirements:
- 2 years post-qualification experience.
- NVQ4 in Management or equivalent.
- Experience managing staff.
- Knowledge of the National Minimum Standards, Care Standards Act 2000, and The Residential Family Centres Regulations 2002.
- Experience with ParentAssess or PAMs.
