Place2Be’s Children's Mental Health Week will take place in the UK from February 7th to 13th 2022, and will involve schools, youth groups, organisations, and individuals from all around the country.
Place2Beis a children’s mental health charity that provides counselling and mental health support and training in UK schools, using tried and tested methods backed by research.
The topic for this year is Growing Together. Growing Together is about emotional growth and finding methods to support one another. Challenges and setbacks can help us grow and adapt, and trying new things can help us expand our horizons and enter new realms of possibility and potential. However, emotional development is frequently a slow process that takes time, and we may feel 'stuck' at times.
Some children and teenagers have enjoyed being off school, others, on the other hand, will have had a difficult time being away from their friends. Others may be dealing with family issues, loss, or changes in their living circumstances.
There are times when we all feel the strain. As parents and carers, there are ways we can support children and young people to give them the best chance to stay mentally healthy. There are free resources on their website that will help you take part in the week.? All of the ideas can be adapted for use in school, for home-schooling, online lessons or independent learning.
Keep an eye out for the following warning signs:

At Vetro Recruitment we see first-hand the impact of Covid-19 within the sectors we work in. We like to support our nominated charity BulliesOut as much as we can. The interactive workshops and training programmes the charity run focus on awareness, prevention, building empathy and positive peer relationships all of which are crucial in creating a nurturing environment in which young people and adults can thrive. This year we have arranged a team to run the Bristol 10K to raise money in September.
